It may be quiet, but maybe that's because the weather has been pretty quiet as well. Dawlish will only have entered sleep mode, you can be sure he'll be monitoring activity.

Anyway, came across this page whilst searching for something else, don't know if anyone else has come across it but I hadn't seen it previously.

http://en.climate-data.org/location/121020/

The link is for my small village,so surprising to see what level it goes to, but you can search pretty much anywhere in the world from what I can see.

What has surprised me is how accurate the data is. Whilst it may not be 100% it paints a really good picture. I'm not sure what period the data covers and I would dispute some of the figures, eg min for Jan/Feb here is 0c, they are about the most inaccurate figures I can see. The rainfall is slightly on the high side, again, it's only about 7% out and the recording period may have influenced this.

Hope you find it useful.

Yes - quite good. Very localised indeed and they do differ between local
sites although surely many must be extrapolated from official sites
nearby because I'm not sure there is any monitoring, even amateur at
some of them!

For Epping mean temperature only 0.2C down but rainfall -40mm adrift. I
did try Swanston but nothing there, moved on to the alternative,
Fairmilehead, but nothing there either, at the point it took gave up on
me and suggested I might like to buy a log cabin.

Thanks for this David.

I found that much of it was cut 'n' pasted including type errors.
Saying that areas of south east England that have less than 550
mm of rain are significantly wet and there is a high amount of
rainfall in all months slightly amusing.

The data for here in this part of Devon are poor and
contradictory. It applies a blanket mean temperature of 9.7C
which is not right or relevant. My mean temperature is around
10.8 to 11.0C which is probably representative of most of lowland
south Devon, especially coastal areas.

I couldn't find any sunshine data.

Interesting to see some comparisons.

Did you buy a cabin George? Highlands or Finland?

Not this time and neither. As I'm passing through the pragmatic stage of
life the cabin would have gone in the back garden.

[wr] Increasing SSE'y now and hazy to SE. Clear and blue to the north.
More paint has just arrived so time to get on with things before the rain.
