Looking up feeling the edge of the easterly breeze on my face the Cirrus resembled the skeletal remains of a giant sea creature that had drifted in from the east then pivoted to the south. The spine tapering to a tail and the rib cage were clear under the blue. The colour of the light and the slight haze that only seems to be seen when the air drifts from a cooling continent. There was still enough warms to allow two birds of prey to soar high in rising thermal air.
More high cloud was invading from the west against the movement of the atmosphere at my level at least. Earlier when high on Bradfield Kelvin looked to be trying to give a Helmholtz wave to those below. This is the beauty of the weather in the UK with science driving it all. No thought of climate change rights and wrongs just pure weather producing inspiring skys. Simon S (South Yorkshire) |
