Default [WR] S.Essex, Cold, heavy rain

The temperature was only 2C when the heavy, near torrential rain
arrived, but surprisingly no splodges of sleet or wet snow present.
Temperature now up to 4.6C but I bet in the strong wind it feels
like.......... ;-)

I noticed some splodges of sleet earlier this morning when the
temperature was 3.4°C. Rain easing now but 7.4mm (0.29") so far this
morning. Current temp now 5.4°C.

Pain trying to get to the garage this morning with more heavy snow around
4.30 then it bloody froze solid.

We had what could be best described as a sleetstorm around 8am here in
Cranleigh, Surrey. At its heaviest it was almost "proper" snow, before
easing off and turning back to mostly rain. About two miles to the north
is Pitch Hill, which rises to over 800ft, so I imagine that there must
be at least a couple of centimetres of lying snow up there.

Same in Wanstead - just cold, heavy rain. As ever 100 - 200m elevation makes ALL the difference

Similar here but rather more proper snow and a just-about cover but soon gone.

It was cold heavy rain here too in NE Suffolk, lowest temperature I saw about 3.5 deg C, rising quickly to about 5C in the morning. It feels cold in the Northerly though.

Brac, NE Suffolk.
