It was interesting to note that all over the clusters of the GFS ensembles this morning are essentially subtle (slightly more northerly) variations on a theme of westerlies:

Richard Yes, I've noticed that the GFS and ECMWF models are hinting at a spell of strong WNW'lies. That is usually very bad new for here as it is our wettest direction.
