Norman, you are beginning to sound as depressed as the others
in your area. Move north, we have better scenery and better weather
(but the pubs aren't as good!). Will a 'Happy New Year. cheer
you up?

It's the persistence of it that gets very wearing, even though it has been a
very interesting spell and continues to be so.The dreich weather started on 3rd
November. In the 61 days since then we've had the following:

50.3 hours of sunshine
408.3 mm of rain
58 rain days
48 wet days

Also, it seems that a lot of the rain has come during the daylight hours e.g wet
all day yesterday then dry for much of the night and now it looks like being wet
all day today (The rain started just after 0900z). I haven't managed to get onto
the golf course since 4th December and we haven't had many good walks in the
past couple of months. I agree with you about the scenery :-)

Golf course at the back of the house and Royal Dornoch only
12 miles away!

RMK: Rain started shortly after 0900z and has been continuous
since then. Mostly moderate but it looks like it's dying
out now. An ill-defined cold frontal zone appears to have
gone through during the past hour. Max temp 6.3
