El Nino continues, is strong and comparable to 1998 - perhaps the warmest ocean conditions have not yet lasted as long as they did then:
http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/product...nsoyears.shtml However, 2015 was by far the warmest year on record (GISS), being much warmer than 1998. This clearly points to an underlying warming trend which has nothing to do with ENSO. So what has caused it? The highly likely cause is obvious to 99.99% of published scientists and not at all obvious to a tiny minority of deniers of that science. Watch one of them try to say 'it's all a great big global conspiracy', or try to point to the satellite record not agreeing, so therefore the earth isn't as warm as everyone thinks it is. That's their only ways out now and neither is in least bit credible, of course. |
