Temperature falling quickly in last 30 minutes, now down at 2.0C. Rain
has turned to snow although the precipitation area does appear to be about to move away to the east -- George in Swanston, Edinburgh, 580'asl www.swanstonweather.co.uk www.eppingweather.co.uk www.winter1947.co.uk |

RonB It's a feature of the daily variation in temperatures up here partcicularly when the westerlies are blasting through. This is only my third winter up here and they have all been characterised by seemingly relentless mobility from the west. Hence my comment earlier about the almost complete absence of winter high pressure. I suppose that being closer to the source of what passes these days as 'cold air' we do experience more frequent warmer/colder phases but they show little respect for diurnal temperature norms. -- George in Swanston, Edinburgh, 580'asl www.swanstonweather.co.uk www.eppingweather.co.uk www.winter1947.co.uk |

RonB This time of year that is quite a normal occurrence in a mobile situation, isn't it? The advective temperature change far outweighs the radiative changes when the air is moving. -- Freddie Pontesbury Shropshire 102m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/ http://twitter.com/PontesburyWx for hourly reports ----Android NewsGroup Reader---- http://usenet.sinaapp.com/ |
