![]() I saw the following on the Met-Jobs mailing list and thought it might interest one or two people on u.s.w. 30 or 40 years ago it's the sort of opportunity that I would have gone for :-) ------------------------------------ Meteorological Service of New Zealand Ltd (MetService) and MetraWeather are looking for Meteorologists to join our New Zealand based forecasting team in Wellington and Auckland. Whether you are part of a National Meteorological organisation or working for a private weather company, we are looking for Meteorologists with well-rounded forecasting experience, or, with specific skills in the areas of Marine, Aviation and Tropical Cyclone forecasting. We have a variety of roles undertaking forecasting duties supporting the delivery of public and commercial weather services both nationally and internationally. This includes the production and verification of forecasts and warnings, as well as the production and delivery of briefings and consultancy tailored to specific industries. Our forecast room operates a revolving shift environment to ensure 24/7 public weather services, and to support the commercial interests of energy, broadcasting and aviation markets spanning time zones around the world.
