From the Met Office:
----------------------------------------------------------------- Exeter Airport No 2 (03844) - New MMS Site - Declared Operational 29/02/2016 Following the installation of Exeter Airport No 2 (03844) on 22/01/2016 to MMS and the subsequent monitoring period, the data has now been signed off by QSQM as being of acceptable quality for the observing network as of 09/02/2016 and is declared fully operational. Note: The wind system is not yet installed on this site and further monitoring will be carried out after this is done. ----------------------------------------------------------------- -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. http://peakdistrictweather.org |

They'll probably just swap the SYNOP numbers when they add the winds. It would be a good opportunity for them to give WMO numbers to all those climat sites that appear with the block number 99. We live in Hope - well I would if I could afford it! Bruce. |
