Last night, on the BBC local forecasts, a day of occasional showers bright intervals.
In practice, this moring was dry, bright with little wind & glimpses of sun. Since 13:00 it's been misty, mizzly, murky, misty (visibility less than 1 mile). So as descriptions of the weather go - it was poor Now (15:00) the forecast for Penzance at 14:00 (yes - the forecast for 1 hour ago) is 10% chance of rain & excellent visibility & 78% humidity. At 14:00 it was close to 100% humidity, steady drizzle & poor visibility (at best). I've just got soaked. B***dy hell, even Camborne's reporting around 94% humidity - surely there should be some reality checks on these forecasts. I know I often moan about these forecasts, but they have recently been totally ridiculous on many occasions! There, I feel better now. Graham Penzance |
