The sunshine recorder has just switched off (at 19:28) after a day of
unbroken sunshine and crystal clear skies that meant for a healthy 93% of the total possible. A total of 12.0 hours. The monthly total has ended up at 163.4 hours and brings the month roughly inline with my March sunshine average for the last 10 years which is 158 hours. It seems that when comparing the last 10 years' sunshine with the 1981-2010 figure of 119 hours for nearby Sidmouth, as with April, March has become a much sunnier month over the last decade or so. My sunniest March since 2006 is jointly held by 2011 & 2012 with 190 hours. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalleyweather.me.uk |
