That was how the weather for today in these parts was described on the
6.30 BBC forecast this evening. At the time, we were coming to the end of over 40 minutes of a very violent and close thunderstorm. In that 40 minutes I recorded just over 6mm of rain (unreliable reading), Pitsford 3 miles away less than 1mm. At least 6 thunder claps were closer than half a mile away. From the forecaster's description of that lot, I don't think I want to be around if we ever have a proper thunderstorm!!! Good news slot. The new dog was fast asleep on the settee next to me when it all kicked off. On the first clap of thunder, she opened one eye, grunted, and promptly went back to sleep. All previous four dogs have been scared witless of thunder, so this makes a somewhat pleasant change. jim, Northampton |
