Default Rain has stalled

I looked at the radar earlier and assumed a steady eastward march of the
rain. So after making it to East London I was somewhat surprised when it
had not reached here an hour later and even more surprised to see that
it is dry at the Oval having retreated westwards. I suspect it will
arrive soon although perhaps lighter than originally forecast?

Yes the radar was looking quite ominous at about 11am now fizzled drizzle at best. Still bloody miserable for late June though.

I don't think it's retreated, Dave, having just looked at the radar, more like fizzled out on its way eastwards. We had an hour or so of light rain here, then dry but now a leaden uniform grey sky and light drizzle.

I got only 0.4mm in the end so it did fizzle out. I imagine that was
less than originally forecast because they were predicting the cricket
to be a bit of a waashout and they played all evening, albeit in cool
and sometimes drizzly weather.
