Today was the windiest hot day I can remember, certainly for inland. The
hottest day on record in August 2003 was also quite breezy I recall. But today we had a maximum of 26.8C with an average wind speed of 17 mph and gusts up to 31 mph. Needless to say it was pleasant out in the sun. Dave --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus |

Average wind speed this afternoon was 7 mph with the highest gust being 18 mph. So nothing other than a breezy summer's day. Mind you, even the breeze didn't temper the warmth with a maximum of 26C and DPs around 16C - 17C at the time. It was uncomfortably warm to sit in the sun for any length of time. High UV again. Cooling off now though with the humidity dropping away. (19:05), 20.1C, RH 68%, DP 13.6C, 1024 hPa (F), Wind 5 mph WNW. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalleyweather.me.uk |

Quite something for August - still looking good, even in the harbour! http://www.sennen-cove.com/harbourcam.htm , lots of white water. Hope my visitors survived the 2hr 40 min trip back from Scilly OK! Also not hot here, but pleasantly warm with a maximum of 21.6C Graham Penzance |

The wind worked wonders for readings in sheltered gardens: 27C on Saturday. 27.1C on Sunday. As you say, very nice in the sunshine
