mod/hvy since 1715z. The max rate so far is around 60 mm/hr at 1755z and the
total fall so far (to 1820z) is between 6 mm and 7 mm.

Your not kidding Norman, 10.6mm here, started around 17.30.
Only rained on 6 days and we've already had 94% on the monthly average with
8 days still to go!

Much better today, after 3 dull days we managed 7.7 hours of sunshine

Wet here too Graham.
Each time I have passed through Weston Coyney on the way to the Peaks it has
been raining! Never seen it dry there yet or the sun shining. One day it was
the only rain on the journey. You live in an interesting spot. :-)

When I used to drive between Bracknell and Rushden, I found a similar
effect in High Wycombe. If there was a little light drizzle on the
route, it would be thick drizzle in HW. I'd hit heavy rain there when
only a little light stuff elsewhere. One time there were a few light
showers forecast and that's all I saw until I got into HW where I had
to slow to a crawl in heavy rain, hail, thunder and lightning. I think
the place must be cursed: something to do with the Hellfire Club?

You got that right Will
Wettest September since 2012 with 142% of the average rainfall, Dullest
since 2013.
11 wet months in a row now and even though today is new month it's still the
same old story, wet!!
The year today has also seen sun hours well below average.

Glimmer of hope next week though
