Yet another front reaches the SE and nothing but a Trace to record.

Please don't assume that Southend is typical of the SE as a whole. We
didn't have an awful lot of rain in my part of Surrey, but it was
certainly far more than a trace.

Must admit, I almost put money on it even though we had Heavy rain
forecast for 8 and 9am according to the Met Office.

Won't be until October before we see any useable rain here I reckon.

If you live just up the coast from Shoeburyness, by repute the driest
place in Britain, then I'm afraid you are going to have to expect this.

Quite.

In fact, if you go to http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/...aries/anomacts and choose 2016, Rainfall, Summer, 1981-2010 anomaly, the noticeable thing is that Essex has not been drier than normal. OK August was dry, but June saw twice the normal rainfall in that area.

Cornwall was drier than normal overall, though it's certainly making up for it in September. We've topped 100mm now.

Still, hoping for a dip in the Ocean tomorrow when it brightens up. It should be fairly warm & still fairly humid in the afternoon.
