Surprisingly few comments on Matthew here. Also, I may have missed it but
haven't spotted any links to this site:

http://www.tropicaltidbits.com/
============================

Perhaps should have mentioned that this link is a status/forecast video,
lasting some 10-15 minutes and so it goes into quite some detail. It is
also reissued daily, updating overnight UK time. Looks like the Bahamas
are directly in the firing line now and changes in the projected track
are starting to suggest that the US Eastern seaboard from Florida
northwards is now under a more serious threat.

Is it the mathew track that is throwing the 8 to 10 ten ECMWF
projections all over the place. Stuff seems to be popping up and
disappearing over a virtual day, impossible to keep track of anything,
or is it making the projections throw up anomalies?

As it projects for 13 Oct , today

http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/ecmw...pe=0&archive=0

and as it was yesterday for 13 Oct

http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/ecmw...r=3&annee=2016

I don't remember seeing such virtual "violent" swings in the daily outputs

There was a comment in an NHC discussion that ECMWF model, amongst
others, had changed tack regarding Matthew to come more in line with the
Met Office's forecast of a track closer to Florida.

Its a bit easier to understand the substantial effect of a hurricane in
one part of the globe can sometime later affect another part of the
globe, than a butterfly in the Amazon doing so

Tcha! (Actually a sound more like "dth", made by placing the tip of the tongue over the top front teeth and drawing in air under it/between the teeth and tongue tip. It relates to the letter LL in Welsh except there the sides of the tongue are employed and the process is reversed. Speaking Welsh can get messy for the saesen.)

ECMWF has Mathew filling to a non-entity going well inland of the East
US coast, the other models have it along or off the eastern seaboard up
to Greenland

That's wonderful ,I'm v grateful.All manner of marine vessels to boot.Will
have a better play around with the site later today when home.
Can't help thinking the bigger the passenger liner the more vulnerable it
may be with side-on powerful winds or rampant seas and the sky scraping
aspect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...assenger_ships
