Bit different up here. A very dry December yes at just over 60mm (normal is 209mm). But rivers are flowing fine, garden soil is wet/frozen and everything appears quite normal but nicer for walking as some paths are mud free. Annual total is around 1370mm (normal is 1640mm) so no real issues there either. Went on a 10 mile stroll today and Burrator reservoir looked a little low but not by much. Grass stopped growing weeks ago as the soil is now too cold. Don't expect to cut until next April, whoopeee!!! Gosh, 10 miles is a mere 'stroll'. Goodness knows how far you'd have to go for it to beconsidered a 'walk'! -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl Snow videos: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3QvmL4UWBmHFMKWiwYm_gg |
