Default [WR] Peak District snow

Moderate snow now in Tideswell with vis around 600m. The temp is +0.5° so there
is a slow thaw in progress but it's now accumulating faster than it's melting.
Currently 2cm of lying snow.

The Snake Pass has been closed but the Cat & Fiddle road is still open. The
webcam at the Cat & Fiddle shows that the road appears to be wet so the
gritting is working. The AWS at Walker Barn at 370m on the road from the Cat &
Fiddle towards Macclesfield is showing a temp of -0.2° with a 25 knot wind
blowing. Unfortunately, the AWS at Flash isn't reporting this morning.

There's a video taken by someone walking on Kinder Scout (around 600m) this
morning at

Lots of other interesting stuff there.

There are reports that several cars have become stuck on the Snake Pass after
ignoring the 'Road Closed' signs. Some people are just plain daft.

More like they think they can get away with it, it won't be that bad,
overzealous health and safety, in my day we just got on with it blah
blah blah, problems only happen to other people, that sort of thinking
(if you can call it thinking).
