uk.sci.weather (UK Weather) (uk.sci.weather) For the discussion of daily weather events, chiefly affecting the UK and adjacent parts of Europe, both past and predicted. The discussion is open to all, but contributions on a practical scientific level are encouraged. |

Surprised that the UAH satellite anomaly figure for October at +0.63C hasn't
been flagged up here. This would seem to be the largest monthly anomaly outside of the exceptional El Nino spikes of '98 and '16 and builds on the September figure of +0.54C and August of +0.41C. Data at: http://www.drroyspencer.com/ (and click on Home/Blog) For the first time, as far as I can recall, there seem to be some glimmers of discomfort in the already extensive comments from otherwise diehard sceptics (including, if I've read correctly between the lines, from Spencer himself, albeit very tentatively). Though of course the commentariat also still includes some genuine rednecks. |
