Unbroken sunshine today despite cumulus build-up over the land. The sky stayed clear out over the bay with a double hit from the low but warm sun that still has a bit of ooomph (the sun itself and its reflection off the sea) in it. Today's 8.6 hours has brought the sunshine total to 47 hours for the first 8 days of this month. And all that sunshine has warmed the afternoons with the mean temperature running at 14.0C but there's been several chilly nights and an early season frost last night with a minimum of -0.6C. My November sunshine average for the last 12 years has been 93 hours, so just over halfway there already. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalleyweather.me.uk Yes, it was a lovely day yesterday, especially out of the breeze. 8.3 hours of sunshine even on the moors at Bosullow. It was the 1st predominantly sunny day of the month though. Nice pic http://www.sennen-cove.com/index.htm As you say, the reflection off the sea (assuming you're south facing) has quite an impact at this time of year. Drive down Pz bypass & as the sea comes into view, the light level shoots up. Graham Penzance |
