0730: Rain and snow. Quite large flakes. Not settling.

0745: Slight snow. Has now settled on all surfaces including
footpaths.

0830: Back to rain and snow. Snow thawing. Paths wet but dappled
with flakes.

0905: Nothing much of anything falling at the moment as far as I can
see (from indoors, I've wimped out from going outside to check).
Flakes of snow on the previously melted paths have persisted so it
looks as though surface temps may have dropped below zero again so
may be some ice. Drops of water on clothes-line also look as though
they may have refrozen.

1000: Nothing much changed but a group of 4 snowflakes on my patio
that I've kept an eye on for about 70 minutes have finally melted.
Some others further from the house are still hanging on.

1130: Light rain now but with the occasional few flakes of wet snow.
Still a little snow lying amongst the grass and on shed roofs but slow
thaw continues.

1235: Snowing again. First noticed it about 10 minutes ago as tiny
flakes or grains. Flakes now larger but still fairly small. Intensity
increased but still light. Settling on roofs and grass but not paths.

1930: The snow reached moderate for a while, as Roy has remarked, but
didn't last too long and the cover slowly thawed in the afternoon until
the fresh snow had gone.
Thaw has stopped and previously wet surfaces, apart from pavements, are
glittering with ice. Some thin snow still lying on shed roofs, grass,
and wheelie-bin lids.
