Generally just offshore, clearly visible on the Fistral archive webcam images
https://magicseaweed.com/Live-Newqua...orth-Webcam/3/ The temperature only rose above 0C at Newquay at around 09:00 (at St Mawgan that is) so they almost certainly contain snow. Just need a bit more north in the wind to bring them ashore. Graham Penzance |

....otherwise known as the Kent Clipper. It does not seem to be very productive today though, but with the wind veering overnight a few light showers seem to be making more progress south of London.

Julian Mayes Molesey, Surrey Does seem a better name, as it doesn't really dangle! I notice it gave a bit of snow in the Channel Islands Very cold day for Scilly today, around 4C this afternoon. I think the best chance of snow in west Cornwall is during the showery F6-7 northerly forecast later tomorrow, rather than on the front itself in the morning. Time will tell. Actually gritting the roads here, which is a rarity. There was some ice around this morning, largely due to water draining off the fields. Wintry showers still passing just off the north coast https://www.atlanticcottageholidays....m-sennen-cove/ Currently approx 3C in Penzance, and we've lost the sunshine.. Graham Penzance |

Which is precisely what the MetO think. You not read their warning issued yesterday? |

Yes I have, but as it happens the forecast for Penzance has been showing the reverse all day, though they have recently cut back on the morning snow risk. Rain has consistently been shown for the afternoon showers. GFS, on the other hand, have been consistently been showing snow in the late aft/evening showers. Ever thought of not being antagonistic for a change? Graham Penzance |

E.g. http://www.greatbosullow.net/ Temperature now near, or just below freezing, across much of Cornwall 0.5C Penzance, 0.2C Lands End, 0C Newquay, -1C Culdrose etc. It's not often the wind aligns itself so well to bring the cold right down with virtually no modification by the sea. My daughter keeps looking at the street lamps, though going by the radar it's a bit of a lost cause! Graham Penzance |
