Yes it's been wet. Some particularly heavy bursts around noon yesterday. Still raining, but the clearance is close. Hopefully the sun will be out in an hour or so.
Min 8.3C (09:00 yesterday) Max 11.6C (early hours). Graham Penzance |

The 1st line of which reads "A largely dry start, but rain will quickly spread northwards." At 09:00 there are outbreaks of rain across SW England with the clearance approaching quickly from the SW. It's not been anything resembling dry for a many, many hours, apart from briefly around 04:00 perhaps. Forecasts can only get better. Can I suggest "A fairly wet start but a clearance to mainly dry and fairly sunny weather will shortly reach Cornwall & steadily spread NE across the whole region" Graham |

By 09:45 the rain of the last 24 hours had cleared NE and the sun was out. Gorgeous out on Scilly now http://www.scillyman.co.uk/Lowertown_Cam.html So after a wet start a lovely day on the cards. Best to do your own nowcasting by taking a look at the animations of satellite pics and radar images. https://en.sat24.com/en/gb/visual https://www.netweather.tv/live-weath...pos=0&at_tot=4 Len Wembury |

I can beat that - 37.8 mm for the same period, and the first three hours were dry. I find it an impressive total, but the locals don't even appear to notice! Had I experienced the same total at my last site, there would've been mud everywhere, and surface water running down the lanes. Here, it all appears to have disappeared! The river is higher than it was yesterday, but is well below "banks full". All this points to 30-40 mm daily totals being normal for this location.

Thanks Graham. We managed to move in just ahead of the main snow on Thursday evening - but couldn't return the van I had hired until Monday, owing to deep snow further down the valley. It wasn't too bad in Ystrad, but was much worse further south and east, and over high ground.
