Steady fall in temperature overnight, and it was freezing by dawn. Overcast all day. Light snow for a couple of hours from about 09.00 local time, leading to a general thin covering on roofs and all surfaces and vegetation in the garden here, except for the stone footpaths.

Dry from late morning onwards, but dull and bitterly cold with a moderate NE to ENE wind. Temperature continuously below -2°C after midday and the lying snow has survived intact.

12.6°C at 16.00 local time yesterday; -2.3°C at the same time today: 14.9 deg. C colder !
