Judging by the temperature record quoted, the story ought to date from before 2003!

Given that the date records for the next two weeks are in the low/mid 20s surely not even the most frenzied forecaster would predict 32C which would of course be completely impossible during that time period. 32C isn't first reached until May 22nd! -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl Snow videos: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3QvmL4UWBmHFMKWiwYm_gg |

Guess what's happened is an old forecast for last(?) summer got picked up by accident. Else why the chat about August? Is every article that ever appeared in the Daily Mail perhaps still available on their website? Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a date attached to it. From the final bit "The heatwave follows some of the worst weather the UK has seen for centuries after severe floods earlier this year." I'd guess that it probably originally appeared at some point in summer 2014. -- John Hall "Hegel was right when he said that we learn from history that man can never learn anything from history."
