The sea's been pretty rough over recent days, but the period has generally been very short, so the waves have had little energy. As a result, the waves have been constructive rather than destructive. In fact, even over the last couple of days the sand's been accumulating at Sennen, despite an often strong onshore wind - which normally has the effect of removing sand from the beach.
This shows it rather well https://magicseaweed.com/Live-Sennen-Webcam/65/ Notice how much the river has been diverted by the steady building of a sandbank. Last Sunday the river was flowing directly into the sea (near enough) Endlessly fascinating the sea. Graham Penzance |
