Default [OT] Unusually cold in SE Australia

Some interesting statistics from the mountain regions of SE Australia

At Charlotte pass this morning, -14.9 degrees. See

At Perisher Valley, -14.2 was the minimum.
These were significantly cold.
They were the coldest temperature in Australia for 7 years (since
Charlotte Pass fell to -16.0 on 20 July 2011 and the coldest August
temperatures for 16 years since Charlotte Pass fell to -16.0 on 24
Aug 2002.

At Perisher Valley, it was the coldest temperature there for 20
years (since -17.0 in July 1998) and the coldest August temperature
there for 33 years (since -15.0 on 20 July 1985

Yesterday morning, Thredbo (Top Station) fell to -13.2, their coldest
morning for 31 years and their coldest August morning for 44 years .
