A couple of quite sunny days here, albeit with a cool N breeze which has held the temperature down to the high teens after reaching 22.8C on Sunday. 8 hours of sunshine up on the moors yesterday, probably end up much the same today. An hour or 2 more on windward coasts.
Despite the fresher air, temperatures are still holding up at night, thanks to the breeze off the relatively warm sea surrounding Cornwall, though the SST has dropped back to near the early September normal. Minimum of 14.7C last night. SST just off the north coast 17C or so, some chilly patches off the south coast with the moderate offshore wind causing upwelling. Surf conditions look promising for early next week, with winds more offshore on the north coast & a decent swell. Another 4 or 5 weeks and it'll be getting cold again. Graham Penzance |
