SYNOP: 31350 81805 10124 20108 49900 57040 75865 887// 333 82708 88712= Cloudy late Wednesday afternoon and evening, with the odd spot of rain/drizzle at first. Cloudy for the first half of Wednesday night, with rain starting just before midnight - slight at first, then moderate or heavy 0130z to 0430z with a peak rate of 20 mm/hr just after 0400z, before becoming slight again thereafter. Warm front through at 0415z. Ahead of the front, winds were SSW F5 at first on Wednesday afternoon, moderating to F2-3 quickly as the evening started, then backing ESE-E by the early hours, before veering southerly F3-4 after the warm front. Temperature dropped 3 degrees after the front, and pressure started to rise rapidly. SYNOP: 41570 62115 10098 20081 49975 53011 72162 85201 333 85825 83075= A wet afternoon. Continuous precipitation until around 1515z - occasionally heavy (max rate 38 mm/hr at 1245z). Since then the cloud has broken up and looks very convective, with some thin cirrus above. Although the precipitation presented as showers on the radar, it was overcast and continuous on the ground. Surface winds have backed and moderated this afternoon, but still pretty lively with a F4-5 southwesterly. Visibility much improved in the past hour. 9.4 mm of rain so far today.
