[OBS] Ystrad, Rhondda - Fri 30 Nov 2018
0900z: 27007KT 8km Slight rain shower 2CU020 (1SC050) 7.4/5.3 QFF 1005.2 rising.
SYNOP: 41558 22707 10074 20053 40052 52023 78081 82800 333 82820= Frequent showers since Thursday afternoon - some heavy (max rate 85 mm/hr at 2132z) and some with small hail. Surface wind has gradually moderated overnight, but has been gusty at times. Generally good visibility, but poor in the heavier showers. Currently it has been dry for just under an hour, but another shower is approaching from the west - with some of its rain blown well ahead of it. 1200z: 27012KT 20km Recent rain shower 1CU020 7.9/5.7 QFF 1006.7 steady.
SYNOP: 11570 12712 10079 20057 40067 51016 60031 72581 81100 333 81820= Occasional slight rain showers this morning, with the odd heavier one (8 mm/hr at 1140z). Good visibility away from precipitation. SYNOP: 41570 72407 10081 20057 40076 53009 72581 878// 333 82820 86650= Variable cloud amounts and occasional rain showers - mostly slight, but a beefier one at 1430z gave a rate of 5 mm/hr briefly. The skies are looking more stable now, with a fair amount of stratocumulus overhead currently. Good visibility away from precipitation, and the surface wind has backed and moderated. Maximum temperature so far today is 9.0 (1349z).
