Slight or moderate rain from mid afternoon on Monday into the evening, when it became continuous and heavy around 2100z, peaking at 38 mm/hr at 2220z, before easing off to moderate as the cold front came through around 2230z, and then petered out by 2300z. Cloud base not overly low - certainly clear of the hilltops - and breaking up after midnight. Moderate or poor visibility, becoming very good or excellent after midnight. Surface wind was SSW F3-4 ahead of the front, veering W-NW behind the front, and decreasing. Very icy this morning, the ground has frozen again, and there is ice on most surfaces - although it just looks wet.

Generally cloudy, but cover broke to less than half at times between 1345z and now, bringing a few sunny intervals. Some dense fast-moving upper cloud in the southwest half of the sky. Excellent visibility outside of precipitation, but has dropped to the lower end of good in the current shower. Surface wind veered northwesterly around 1330z. Maximum temperature so far today is 4.8 (1456z).
