Globally, December 2018 was the 2nd warmest one since 2015 and the
warmest month of 2018 by a smidgen. The anomaly against Met Office
so-called pre-industrial normal was +1.43C.

The year of 2018 was the 3rd warmest on record, being 1.26C above the
MO's pre-industrial normal.

And I screwed that up completely by using the figures for land areas
only. Oops!

Here's the corrected version:

Globally, December 2018 was the second warmest one since 2015. [That bit
was OK but it wasn't the warmest month of the year, only coming equal
second]
The anomaly against Met Office so-called pre-industrial normal was
+1.12C [not 1.43]

The year of 2018 was the 3rd warmest on record, being 1.03C above the
MO's pre-industrial normal.
Warmest year was 2016 at +1.20C, followed by 2017 at 1.11C.

Sorry for the cock-up.

I've now updated my web-page to show this latest temperature data in
graphical format.
