Default Very warm start in Cornwall

19C at Newquay @ 10:20, and that's up at the St Mawgan airfield.

It'll be the 1st 20C day of the year along the north coast beaches.

Much less wind than yesterday, when it was rather blustery, with a Max of 17.6C in Penzance

After being a light onshore the wind has backed a little and has allowed the temperature to rise to 20.1C, may rise a bit further. The 1st 20C of 2019 in Penzance. Around 22C in Cornwall away from the south coast.

Topping 20C on both the Cornish coasts in April is very unusual.

Unbroken sunshine, though rather hazy.

It did, with the wind backing offshore around 15:45 (under the influence of an afternoon north coast sea breeze) a late maximum of 20.5C @ 16:30.

Must be close to an April record? Highest max here 22.0C (since 1991), though there's quite a cluster between 20 & 22C. The cold sea puts a lid on it.

21C @ Newquay at 10:50. Just topped 20C in Penzance (11:30), so could get close to record levels.
