Default May & Spring 2019 in Penzance

MAY
Overall normal temperatures, very sunny & dry. The driest May since 1992 despite a 17mm deluge on 10th.

256.6 hours, at nearby Bosullow. It was the 3rd sunniest month at Bosullow in the last 8 years, after July 2013 (293.8 hours) & June 2014 (286.7 hours), just beating June & July last year. I suspect the sunniest nearby coastal spots were around 280 hours.

The 10th saw slack low pressure and a sea breeze front shower gave a deluge, dropping 14mm in the 40 minutes 19:50-20:30, and 17mm in total. It was very localised, in fact it sat just over my house, barely moving.

All anomalies relate to the 1981 – 2010 norm.
