Brussels on Tuesday 4th June 2019

Some weak sunshine through high cloud at first, but cloud was thicker and lower from late morning and over midday. Brighter again from early afternoon, with sunshine at times, filtered by large amounts of high and medium-level cloud.

Turbulent convective cloud moved in from the SW during the early evening, and the sky became very dark and threatening after 20.00 local time. Distant rumbling thunder from 20.40 and slight rain from 20.50. Squally wind and moderate rain from 21.00, with several rumbles of thunder. Lightning flashes quite close to the south at 21.20 and 21.27 with sharp cracks of thunder, but the storm was over by 21.30: rainfall 4 mm at Uccle.

Warm by late afternoon. Light E wind veered SE in the early evening, and then increased and veered abruptly SW in the storm with strong gusts: up to 38 kn at Uccle.
