uk.sci.weather (UK Weather) (uk.sci.weather) For the discussion of daily weather events, chiefly affecting the UK and adjacent parts of Europe, both past and predicted. The discussion is open to all, but contributions on a practical scientific level are encouraged. |

When I checked the forecast at 08:45, a 10% chance of rain @ 08:00 & 09:00. It's been raining since since before 06:00, moderate to heavy the last 30 minutes, a dark cloud & 2 raindrops. It's quite fine, the radar doesn't do it justice. Those gaps in the echoes are still wet.
I can understand discrepancies like this when it's showery, but this is a well forecast occlusion giving prolonged rain. As it's still distinctly wet out on Scilly, not set to stop anytime soon, so at least 4-5 hours of continuous rain, possibly more. I'm not impressed. Hopefully, much more summer like tomorrow. A rapid clearance to warm sunny periods. Now (14:00) around 21C, time for a swim. Somewhere quiet - not at Sennen until September. https://www.atlanticcottageholidays....m-sennen-cove/ .. . though it does look rather nice, surprising how quickly the wave's cleaned up.
