Thunderstorm 1555z-1615z. Most of the rain was slight, but there was a brief (1 min) heavy burst around 1558z. Further slight rain in the second half of the night. Mostly cloudy Sunday with large amounts of medium and high cloud, and some convective cloud development at times underneath. Upper layers cleared suddenly after the thunderstorm. At the same time there was a marked drop in temperature and dew point, so probably a cold front. Cloud spread back across well before sunset, and it was a cloudy night until just before 0500z when there was another clearance. A fine start to the day, with cloudless skies until local convection commenced around 0715z. Visibility generally very good, but briefly moderate in the thunderstorm. Surface winds were southeasterly until the thunderstorm, then veered southwesterly before backing SSE'ly during the evening, and finally veering southwesterly with the morning clearance. Speeds generally F2 or less, but picking up to F3-4 this morning.
