Heavy rain in two distinct periods overnight (2200z-2330z and 0350z-0430z), with spells of moderate intensity too. Maximum rate was 39 mm/hr (0400z). 26 mm fell between 2130z and 0530z. Cloudy or overcast throughout the evening and night. Very good visibility intially, falling to moderate or poor in precipitation. Surface wind backed easterly during the evening, then veered southeasterly after midnight - generally F2-3, but F4 at times in he second half of the night. Minimum overnight temperature was 16.7 (2326z).

Surface cold front through at 0640z which cleared away the rain, drizzle and low cloud. Cloudy at first, becoming partly cloudy behind the front, the cloud soon becoming convective in nature. Moderate visibility becoming very good after the front. Southeasterly surface wind veered southerly behind the front and increased to F4-5, and is currently quite gusty.

Looking on the radar it seems that the line of heavy-looking showers has developed a gap that passed over my location. Visibility currently good but has generally been very good. Surface wind has backed a tad, but is stronger now at a steady F5 and gusty.
