All anomalies relate to 1981-2010 norms for the whole month
Mean Max 11.2C (+1.0) Mean Min 4.4C (-1.1) Absolute Max 13.1C - 10th Absolute Min -0.4C 1st Total Rainfall 76.2mm (53%) Days with Air Frost 1 Thunder 1 Hail 2 Rain Days 10 Gale 2 Mean Pressure @ 09:00 1013 Sunshine 4 miles NW over the moors:- 40 hours. The big feature has been the fairly relentless wind - excluding the 1st 4 days. Every day since the 5th has seen gusts in excess of 30mph. Gwennap Head has recorded 90mph on 3 days (possibly more, I may have missed some). The SWH at Sevenstones has been 6m on several occasions, and has exceeded 9m. The evening of 8th saw some particularly severe conditions, the biggest swell on 9th. It's often been possible to find some reasonable shelter along the south coast & enjoy the slightly above normal hours of sunshine. So not all bad, some photos of the month http://www.turnstone-cottage.co.uk/Dec.html Looks like light winds at last tomorrow. Graham Penzance |
