When I check the Regional 24 Hour forecast - S & SW section for
Gloucester (the nearest location to me), their forecast temperatures are
routinely 2C higher than what I actually record just 9 miles away.

Has anyone else noticed similar differences for their local areas?

I haven't kept a log, but perhaps I should.

What is your height above sea level?

Here at 440 feet asl, I routinely get a maximum 1 to 2 degrees lower than
Cambridge. My ten year old daughter has been "well trained" during the
journey home from school in Cambridge. We have learnt where the hot spots
are, and have a little game in predicting the temperature at home based on
the "hot spot" at the bottom of the hill by the golf course.

I do wish though that her mathematics was as good as her understanding of
lapse rates, etc

Now of course on a cold morning, we at the top of the hill can be several
degrees warmer than the low ground.

150ft. Gloucester will probably be no more than 50ft.
