0700z: 19001KT 100m Freezing fog Sky clear -4.5/-4.8 QFF 1020.2 steady.
SYNOP: 41901 01901 11045 21048 40202 56003 74844= Mist from early Wednesday evening, with patchy freezing fog forming after 2230z, becoming dense and continuous after 0230z. Sky currently visible through the top of the fog. Fog is depositing rime. Ground is frozen, and hard surfaces icy. Surface wind NE F2 becoming light and variable, mainly S-SSW F0-1, from mid evening. Ground frozen and hard surfaces icy. 1200z: 18003KT 25km 1SC030 (1SC050 1CI250) 0.2/0.0 QFF 1019.2 falling.
SYNOP: 11675 11803 10002 20000 40192 58013 60001 70240 81501 333 81630= Freezing fog rapidly cleared after 0940z, the temperature finally bottoming out at -6.1 at 0951z. Small amounts of stratocumulus and cirrus on the horizon of the northwest quadrant. Visibility quickly improved to moderate when the fog cleared, and then slowly improved to good. 1500z: 19002KT 15km 4SC045 4AC120 1.4/-0.1 QFF 1018.1 falling.
SYNOP: 42665 61902 10014 21001 40181 57011 84530 333 84645 84362= Sunny with small amounts of cloud until 1400z when thin layers of stratocumulus and altocumulus spread from the north. There was some turbulent stratus for a time (1300z-1430z) over the south Shropshire hills, base around 1200 feet. Good visibility. Surface wind S F1-2.
