Canadian – T+72 hours for THURSDAY: All charts: http://weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/data/m...ast/478_50.gif High pressure (1036mb) lies in the Atlantic to the west of the UK and ridges towards Greenland. Low pressure lies close to the southeast of the country over Europe. The UK lies under moderate northeasterly winds. Most areas will see a mix of sunshine and showers, wintry over the northern hills, with the driest and sunniest weather in the northwest. Daytime temperatures will be close to or just below normal in most areas - with night frosts. Summary: Apologies for the rather short summary tonight. A sign of a change as we head through next weekend as milder air is pumped around the top of the Atlantic high and into the UK. Many southern areas will turn mostly settled over the weekend under a ridge from the Atlantic high, whilst the northwest continues rather more unsettled. After a chilly start with night frosts, expect temperatures to recover back to normal, or perhaps even above normal by early next week. |
