Wintry scene in Brussels: frequent snow showers all day and lyingsnow again now
Brussels on Tuesday 6th April 2021
Snow showers from midnight onwards and through the night led to a general snow cover first thing this morning. Frequent moderate snow showers throughout the day (I have counted eleven !), with a sharp hail shower around 13.30 local time, and soft hail at 14.30. Bright or sunny intervals between the showers. Most lying snow had melted by midday, but some on north-facing roofs has survived all day. A temporary new snow cover formed after the heavier showers, and there is a general snow cover again this evening, as the temperature has now fallen just below freezing. Very cold, with a light to moderate WNW to NW wind.
