The usenet platform is being removed from the Virgin Media service on

I can recommend News Individual Net, which is way better than Google Groups and should allow you to continue using your current newsreader software. It's well worth its modest charge of 10 euros a year. AIOE is free and fine so long as you are not a prolific Usenet poster or want to post to one of the random groups that it has a downer on.
