Default V. significant cloud moving in from NE

For the past 40 mins or so I've been watching a very large area of cloud
moving in here from the NE Very marked upward development and streamers
of white precipitation visible along the leading edge.

The cloud reminds me strongly of that of a large summer TStorm.

Brought a heavy snow shower here for about 15 minutes.

More importantly, temperature dropped from 5.4C to 1.6C.

Just noticed on the 2pm radar quite a noticeable band coming into the
London area, stretching from S Kent northwards up through Suffolk (?) -
looks like it's developed quite a bit in the last hour. Maybe that's what
you're seeing now? It's definitely moving in a ENE-WSW direction.

Cheers

Weird weather. As Darren reported elsewhere the temp rose here - almost to
6C which had me about to check out my Oregon. Then very intense sleet/soft
hail shower which turned everywhere white. Then proper, fairly light snow
with temp dropping like a stone to 1.9C.

Dave, S.Essex - dunno whether to look out for snow drifts or spam drifts at
the moment!

Confirmed from Southend TAF - went from 6C, dew pt -5C to
1C, dew pt 0C in 30 minutes, probably less. I bet the experts can explain
that correlation easily. Spam seems to have gone.
