High pressure (1025mb) lies over Northern Africa. Winds across the UK are fresh to strong westerlies. Most parts will see a mix of sunshine and blustery showers. Temperatures will be close to normal in many parts. Beyond this high pressure moves northwards from Africa and into Europe, whilst low pressure lies in the Atlantic. Therefore the country lies under milder south/southwesterlies with the south and east becoming mosty fine whilst the north and west sees the most of any rain. Forecast 2m temperatures range from +9C in the north to +13C in the south. Beyond this conditions remain rather unsettled towards the northwest, but look set to turn much milder and drier to the southeast as high pressure builds over Europe. High pressure (1021mb) lies close to Southwest Spain. The UK lies under light fresh to strong southwesterly winds, with local gales. A band of rain will move in from the west, followed by showers. Daytime temperatures will be close to normal in most areas. Summary: A rather cool and showery start to next week for most people, before high pressure builds over Europe, drawing in milder southwesterly winds for most parts. The northwest will stay rather unsettled, whilst the southeast becomes mostly dry and fine, with a late Indian Summer. |
