Just driven South down the A34 to here, lightning flashes were
visible every few minutes from the Berkshire Downs onwards (about 1
am), all the way to Fareham. Fortunately I managed to miss most of
the heavy showers that I now see moved quickly W to E through
Hampshire; there is however currently quite a bit of minor flooding on
roads to the East of Southampton.

Rainguage is almost full but several days worth has accumulated and
I'll measure it later in the day.

Brief thunderstrom here, with one big flash and bang, at 2.27 a.m. this
morning. Short burst of heavy rain. Many other showers, too, starting about
11 pm, but without thunder. Measured 14.1 mm this morning.
