Low pressure (990mb) lies in the Atlantic to the south of Greenland. Winds across the UK are mostly moderate south/southeasterlies. Most areas will be mainly dry and fine whilst the far southwest may be cloudier with a few showers. Temperatures will be close to or above normal in many parts, but perhaps turning a little cooler in the south. Beyond this there is very little change, but winds continue to back more to a easterly quarter and may bring in slightly cooler air, and at the same time pressure falls a bit in the south, so maybe some showers developing here. Forecast 2m temperatures range from +8C in the southeast to +11C in the west. Beyond this there is little change but conditions continue to turn colder as colder air spreads west. Low pressure (976mb) lies to the northwest of the UK in the Atlantic, with a secondary low (1007mb) lying to the west of Spain. The UK lies under moderate south/southeasterly winds. Most parts will be mainly dry and bright. Daytime temperatures will be close to or just above normal in most areas, but turning cooler in the southeast. Summary: As we go into the weekend, cooler conditions look set to spread into the southeast from the continent as pressure remains high over Scandinavia. Most parts will be dry and fine, but there may be some showers in the far west. |
