I decided to do some quick figures on summer CET's using MS Excel. According
to my very quick calculations, there have been 5 years since 1900 where the CET for June and July exceeded the 100 year 1900-1999 average (June 14.2C July 16.1C) by +1C or more. They were 1933,1947,1949,1959 and 1976. In all of these years the CET for August also exceeded the 1900-1999 average (15.7C). If history repeats itself (and if my calculations weren't too rushed) it looks like August 2003 will be a warm one as well. Roll on winter 2003/04!!!! Victor |
